These silver earrings are beautiful and name ammonite due to the spiral shape of these fossilised shells. Pliny the Elder (d. 79 AD near Pompeii) called fossils of these animals ammonis cornua ("horns of Ammon") because the Egyptian god Ammon (Amun) was typically depicted wearing ram's horns.

Finish: Solid brass, electro-plated with non-tarnishing silver finish, hand enameled, ear posts are hypo-allergenic.

Dimensions: Hangs approx. 2.5cm (gift boxed with provenance card).
