Description

Ginkgo wintonensis thrived in the Winton region 95 million years ago, long after similar species began to disappear around the world. While there is some evidence that the Ginkgoites lingered into the Cenozoic era in Tasmania, the only species found in Australia today is the imported Ginkgo biloba

Finish Solid brass, electro-plated with non-tarnishing silver finish, giclee print with hypo-allergenic ear posts. Ginkgo wintonensis is only known from the fossilised remains found in the Winton region. A major feature of this extinct plant that differentiates it from the living Ginkgo biloba is its six lobes, three on each side of the major central cleft.

Dimensions Hangs approx 3.5cm (gift boxed with provenance card).

This is an exclusive product to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum, part of the Museum's prehistoric flora range.
