Description

These replica fossilised teeth belonging to Banjo, Australia’s most complete carnivorous dinosaur. Banjo was discovered in 2006 and is the holotype specimen of Australovenator wintonensis, with the fossil registration number AODF604, housed at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum.

These museum-grade replicas were cast from a silicone rubber mould of the actual tooth in the Museum’s collection. Close inspection shows the distinctive serrated inner edge which gave the theropod dinosaurs their steak-knife teeth. Banjo’s fossils come from 95-million-year-old Cretaceous deposits near Winton in western Queensland.
