Filling in the Gaps: The landscapes and environments of ancient dinosaur country

Thanks to the work of our geologists and palaeontologists, the gaps in our knowledge of Australia’s geological history are slowly closing, unlike the gaps in the duricrust of the Rangeland Hills slowly widening until yet another boulder tumbles down the slope.

In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

The discovery of large dinosaurs is filled with excitement, awe and generates a lot of publicity, all of which is great for regional centres such as Winton. After the size, type and general characteristics of the dinosaur find are known, it is up to palaeontologists, geologists and others to fill in the gaps and answer questions about the region, landscapes and environments these animals lived in so long ago.
