Description

A collectible Museum patch released by Australian Age of Dinosaurs.

The theropod Australovenator ruled the roost in northeast Australia during the mid-Cretaceous. Unlike Tyrannosaurus rex (a ‘head-first’ predator), Australovenator was a ‘hands-on’ predator: its arms were muscular and its inner two fingers were equipped with massive sickle-like claws.

Discovered in 2006 and scientifically described in 2009, the holotype of this species is on show at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum in Winton Queensland.

Measures: 10 x 6cm
